Ed Cooley staying at Providence as Michigan basketball search continues

On Monday, Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel spoke with Providence head coach Ed Cooley about the Wolverines' vacant men's basketball job.

On Tuesday, Cooley made it official that he's staying at Providence.

Per multiple sources with knowledge of the situation, Cooley was never formally offered the Michigan job by Manuel — who is still expected to meet with Miami Heat assistant coach Juwan Howard on Tuesday.
