There weren’t many negatives for the Wolverines to take away from their 31-0 drubbing of BYU on Saturday, but concerns arose when starting running back De’Veon Smith went down with an injury midway through the third quarter.
In a show of solidarity, the entire group of Michigan running backs came out onto the field while Smith was down, circling around their fallen comrade. He ultimately was able to limp off under his own power, but did not return to the contest, staying on the sideline in a walking boot.
“I think the news will be good on De’Veon,” said head coach Jim Harbaugh after the game.
