PARIS, France -- While the spotlight sits on Shea Patterson following an NCAA approval of his waiver request for immediate eligibility, there's been another breakthrough on the Michigan quarterback front.
Joe Milton, a true freshman from Orlando, Florida, appears primed to compete for the starting job this fall, head coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters over the weekend.
"Joe did fantastic," Harbaugh said Saturday, during a football clinic at INSEP, France's national sports training center. "Really better than expected. Better than you expect from a freshman at the mid-year to do.
"And he's really talented. Got a very high ceiling.
