Dressed for success: Michigan rolls past Illinois

Washington — After a chaotic 24 hours, Michigan looked out of sorts.

But it had nothing to do with its play.

Donning maize practice jerseys and mismatched shoes after its game attire was still at the bottom of its charter flight that skid off a runway Wednesday afternoon, No. 8 seed Michigan turned in an inspired performance and rolled ninth-seeded Illinois, 75-55, Thursday afternoon in the Big Ten tournament at the Verizon Center.

Derrick Walton Jr. scored 19, Zak Irvin had 18 and Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman added a season-high 17 points for Michigan (21-11).
