Working previously at Michigan from 1979-98, De Carolis served as Michigan’s softball coach for three seasons. During that time, he hired current softball head coach Carol Hutchins as an assistant. In 1984, he moved into a strictly administrative role, which he continued to hold for the remainder of his time at Michigan. In 1998, he took over as Oregon State’s athletic director, a position he held until May of this year, when he stepped down.
