Chris Webber is coming back.
Well, sort of.
The former Fab Fiver and current NBA on TNT analyst on Friday accepted an invite from Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh to be an honorary captain during a 2018 home football game.
"I want to make an official invitation to Chris," Harbaugh said on "The M Zone" show on WTKA 1050-AM in Ann Arbor. "Chris, I want you to be an honorary captain to the Michigan football team next season."
Webber, who has largely avoided any and all events on the University of Michigan campus since leaving the school for the NBA in 1993, was the center of a mid-1990s NCAA investigation into improper benefits provided by a booster, Ed Martin.
