Chris Partridge defends Michigan's punters: '(It's) not easy'

ANN ARBOR -- Michigan made the decision four games into the 2017 season that it needed to switch punters.

Will Hart had struggled in his first 13 attempts, averaging just 37.7 yards per kick, and freshman Brad Robbins was handed the job.

While Robbins improved the Wolverines' numbers some, averaging 40.4 yards over 64 kicks, Michigan finished 11th out of 14 teams in the Big Ten in punting.

Now, a year later, special teams coordinator Chris Partridge remains optimistic.

"That year has been really good for those guys," Partridge told reporters on Sunday. "And they have matured -- both of them.
