Cassius Winston scores career-high as Michigan State basketball beats Michigan, 87-69

EAST LANSING — In his last home game against his biggest rival, Cassius Winston did everything expected of him.

Michigan State basketball’s senior point guard scored a career high 32 points with nine assists, and Xavier Tillman added 20 points and 11 rebounds as the 16th-ranked Spartans led start to finish in an 87-69 victory over No. 13 Michigan on Sunday at Breslin Center.

MSU (12-3, 4-0), which remains alone atop the Big Ten standings, now has won four straight over U-M (10-4, 1-2). The two teams meet again at noon Feb. 8 at Crisler Center in Ann Arbor (Fox).
