BLUE SHARK: Ponte Vedra offensive lineman Jake Guarnera commits to Michigan football

Competing for a national championship ranked near the top of Jake Guarnera's recruiting checklist. So he jumped at the chance Friday, announcing his verbal commitment to a storied, blueblood program that has reached the College Football Playoff in each of the last two seasons.

Guarnera, a 6-foot-4, 285-pound rising senior, chose Michigan at a ceremony held in the school's gymnasium. Earlier this month, he included the Wolverines in his final five, along with Florida, N.C. State, Penn State and Rutgers.
