Michigan State basketball and Michigan basketball won't be playing in Chicago this year after all.
The Big Ten men's basketball tournament was scheduled for the United Center in Chicago but will instead be played March 10-14 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Big Ten leadership announced Tuesday.
Officials said the conference looks forward to returning the event to Chicago in 2023. They thanked the cities for their flexibility and said holding the men's tournament in the same place as the women's tournament (March 9-13) would make it easier to enforce COVID-19 protocols and accommodate teams.
