Big Ten hockey tournament schedule set: Michigan, Michigan State have first-round rematch

The Big Ten hockey tournament schedule is set, and Michigan and Michigan State will face some familiar foes: each other.

The Wolverines (16-14-4, 11-10-3 Big Ten) finished the regular season with 38 points and tied with Minnesota and Ohio State for the second-best record in the conference, but ended up as the No. 3 seed due to tiebreakers.

They’ll host the No. 6 seed Spartans (15-17-2, 11-11-2), who finished with 35 points, in a best-of-three series beginning Friday. All three games, if necessary, will be played at Yost Ice Arena.

The Wolverines and Spartans split their season series at two games apiece, though MSU won the lone game played at Yost, 4-3, on Nov.
