Big Ten football predictions: Michigan, Illinois expected to continue surges

Most of the Big Ten is taking a breather this weekend, including the conference’s only undefeated teams, as Ohio State, Penn State and Minnesota have byes.

In their absence, there is a thin bill of games that is anything but tantalizing.

The marquee is occupied by Nebraska and Purdue, two middling teams who won’t draw in the casual viewer.

But, hey, Michigan is in action against Maryland.

So, that’s something.

Here are the predictions:

Nebraska at Purdue

The line: Nebraska by 3

The buzz: A national television audience will see two bad teams .
