Ambry Thomas earns player of the week honors

Things looked bleak during the second quarter against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Michigan’s defense had been taken advantage of repeatedly by some well-designed plays, the offense was sputtering, and the Wolverines found themselves down 21-3 just before halftime.

Enter Ambry Thomas.

The shifty sophomore shunned the new kickoff fair-catch rules and took it upon himself to make a difference in the game. 99-yards later, Thomas found the endzone and delivered Michigan’s first TD of the night.

For his efforts (2 rets., 120 yds., 1 TD), Thomas was named Co-Special Teams Player of the Week by the Big Ten Conference.
