After two misses, Michigan's 2018 recruiting class finishes No. 21 nationally

ANN ARBOR -- Jim Harbaugh and his staff weren't going to finish top-5 for a third straight year, but the Michigan football program had an opportunity Wednesday to finish strong with its 2018 recruiting class.

Instead, the Wolverines whiffed on a pair of recruits that they had been courting for some time.

When push came to shove Wednesday morning, national signing day and the close of the new wild and wacky recruiting cycle, four-star linebacker Otis Reese and five-star offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere both decided to sign elsewhere.

The announcement from Petit-Frere (Ohio State) wasn't exactly a big surprise given the attention he commanded over the last year.
