A groove or a rhythm? Michigan's running back rotation looks to get going

ANN ARBOR -- Every time the Michigan offense takes the field, the Wolverines' entire running back corps is all ears. Who will it be?

Through three games, De'Veon Smith, Ty Isaac, Chris Evans and Karan Higdon all have between 13 and 27 carries. They've all scored a touchdown. They've combined for 449 yards.

This is all by design and Michigan's running backs have learned that, at any given moment, they could go from the bench to the backfield and vice-versa.

"I don't know," Smith said Tuesday, when asked if he knows before any given series if he'll play or not.
