ANN ARBOR -- It was not until the ninth question of John Beilein's postgame press conference Tuesday that he was asked about winning his 800th game as a college coach. If he had his way, he would have slipped out of the media room at Crisler Center without discussing it.
Asked to describe the postgame celebration for the milestone victory, Beilein gave a half smile and shook his head.
"It's 800 wins," he said, then repeated it. "It's 800 wins."
The 65-year-old, who became just the sixth active Division I coach to reach that number, said he appreciated the congratulatory messages.
