Published 10:26pm ET Saturday 8/25: What started as a Twitter rumor, then message board chatter, has been confirmed by 1 source close to Chat Sports, and is now being reported by other media outlets: Michigan's #1 WR, Tarik Black, has suffered a lower-body injury that will likely cost him the entire 2018 season. We are still trying to confirm whether it was a leg or a foot that was injured.

Black was Michigan's #1 WR to start the year in 2017 as a true freshman, but missed 3/4 of the season after he got injured in the fourth quarter of a win over Air Force in the season's third week.

At the time of his injury in 2017, Black led the team with 11 catches for 149 yards, and got off the season hot with a 46-yard TD against Florida in the opener.

The emergence of sophomore WR Nico Collins this fall should soften the blow to the offense some, but with 2 WR (Kekoa Crawford, and Eddie McDoom) transferring this summer, Michigan's WR crew is paper thin.
