Pep Hamilton Gets Job Promotion, Will Remain With Michigan Football

Pep Hamilton's future with the Michigan Wolverines was murky all offseason, but he will remain with the program - and he has even gotten a promotion.

Chat Sports confirmed in an interview with former quarterback Alex Malzone yesterday that Hamilton would return next season and, in Michigan's athletics department directory, Hamilton is now listed as "Assistant Head Coach/Passing Game Coordinator/Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers Coach."

To see what Malzone had to say about Hamilton, watch the interview he had with James Yoder and Jordan Giorgio below.

The Wolverines did not have a quarterbacks coach or a wide receivers coach last season but hired Dan Enos to be their wide receivers coach before he left for Alabama

Hamilton was in charge of the passing game last season, so it makes sense that he will now have more direct contact with both the quarterbacks and wide receivers.

Hamilton previously worked under head coach Jim Harbaugh at Stanford in 2010 before leaving for the offensive coordinator job with the Indianapolis Colts in 2013. He spent three seasons in that role before joining the Cleveland Browns as their offensive coordinator in 2016, where he spent just one season before accepting the associate head coach/passing game coordinator role at Michigan.
