Michigan Recruiting Roundup: Harbaugh Visits Top WR Target, Wolverines Making Late Push For 3-Star OL & More

National Signing Day is just three days away, and as such, Jim Harbaugh & Co. are putting the finishing touches on what is shaping up to be another top recruiting class. That means there's plenty to get to around Michigan football recruiting. Here are all the latest Michigan recruiting news and rumors you need to know.

Harbaugh visits top WR target
Michigan has already landed Donovan Peoples-Jones, the No. 1 wide receiver prospect in the class, and they have their sights set on another. Jim Harbaugh visited four-star wideout Oliver Martin (Iowa City, IA) last week, and Steve Wiltfong of 247sports reports that Martin was impressed with the visit.

Martin’s mother Lisa has felt comfortable with Harbaugh since the Barbecue at the Big House. This in-home reiterated those feelings.

The younger Martin remains very high on the Wolverines and spending time with Harbaugh and Partridge gave him more clarity with National Signing Day next Wednesday fast approaching.

“Everything impressed him,” Martin said of his son. “He was telling Coach Harbaugh this. One, the success of the program and where it’s headed, the coaching staff there, they’re dialed in to win, he has some friends on the team. Those are the types of things he likes and the education was one of the first things Oliver said.”

Martin was so impressed, in fact, that he decided to use his final official visit to Michigan this weekend, signaling that the Wolverines are likely in the lead for his services.

Martin is also considering Notre Dame, Michigan State, Ohio State and Iowa. The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder is ranked as the No. 7 wide receiver and No. 47 overall prospect in the country by 247sports.

Wolverines making late push for 3-star OL
Harbaugh also visited three-star offensive lineman Mekhi Becton this week, and the Wolverines now have a very good chance to land him as a result of the visit, according to Michael Clark of Scout.com:

Mekhi is a quiet kid and when I asked him about his Michigan in-home this week, he said the visit went well and that he liked Michigan a lot.

Jim Harbaugh and offensive line coach Tim Drevno did the in-home and really focused on depth chart according to Becton, who wants to play early. I think this really got his attention.

After exchanging messages with Becton, I reached out to a very reliable source close to him. Along with the in-home, he said that Michigan also went to Becton's basketball game and that meant a lot to him. According to the source, Michigan is recruiting Becton hardest and has gained momentum in recent weeks.

At one point, Virginia appeared to be the leader. But the source told me he thought that was no longer the case. He said he believed it would come down to the Wolverines and Virginia Tech.

The 6-foot-7, 345-pounder is ranked as the No. 43 offensive tackle and No. 406 overall player in the country.

Fullback commits as preferred walk-on
Fullback/linebacker Tyler Plocki committed to Michigan over the weekend as a preferred walk-on, according to 247sports. Plocki was on campus this weekend with several other prospects the Wolverines had offered preferred walk-on spots too.
