Michigan Football Rumors: Wolverines To Shake Up Offensive Coaching Staff?

The Michigan Wolverines' season came to a disappointing end on Monday in a 26-19 loss to South Carolina in the Outback Bowl that highlighted their offensive struggles.

Michigan finished the season ranked 105th in the country in total offense and 91st in points per game, and as such, the Wolverines could make some changes to their coaching staff, according to Steve Lorenz of 247Sports.

One source speculated that they wouldn't be "one bit surprised" if some changes took place on the offensive staff. They also mentioned current Baltimore Ravens assistant and long-time Jim Harbaugh assistant Greg Roman as somebody they believe Harbaugh would like to coach with again at some point.

Roman served as the tight ends coach & offensive tackles coach at Stanford under Harbaugh from 2009-10 before joining him as the San Francisco 49ers' offensive coordinator from 2011-14. He then spent two seasons as the OC for the Buffalo Bills before joining Baltimore's staff in 2017.

The Wolverines would also like to simplify their offense at the start of next season as many around the program believe it was overwhelming for many of their young players.
