Michigan Football Recruiting News: 4-Star TE Sets Official Visit To Ann Arbor

Your Michigan football recruiting news update for September 17th:

Four-star Tampa (FL) Berkeley Prep tight end Jacob Mathis has set his official date to Ann Arbor for the Michigan Wolverines' homecoming game against the Northwestern Wildcats on October 10th.

"I had flights set aside, but I was able to get Michigan all the necessary paperwork today (Wednesday) and I'll be there in a few weeks," Mathis said, via 247Sports. "I'm just excited to get into Michigan Stadium. I've heard so much about it and what it's like to be in that environment. I think that's what I'm looking most forward to."

Former Michigan kicker Garrett Rivas is one of Mathis' coaches, and he's reportedly been on the Wolverines' side when it comes to recruiting the Class of 2016 standout.

Mathis is currently ranked as the #9 tight end in his class by 247Sports. He is considered by most to be a heavy lean towards the in-state Florida Gators.
