Michigan Football Recruiting: The Latest On The Wolverines After The U.S. Army All-American Bowl

National Signing Day is less than a month away, and as such, Jim Harbaugh & Co. are putting the finishing touches on another top recruiting class - especially after this weekend's U.S. Army All-American Bowl. That means there's plenty to get to around Michigan football recruiting. Here are all the latest Michigan recruiting news and rumors you need to know.

Michigan expects to land Aubrey Solomon
Five-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon (Leesville, GA) decommitted from Michigan in August and recently named Alabama as his leader, but that doesn't mean hope is lost for the Wolverines - in fact, quite the opposite. According to Steve Lorenz of 247sports, Michigan still expects to land him on Signing Day.

"(Michigan) is going to get him eventually," they said. "That's where he's going to end up."

Two things I was told regarding Solomon and Michigan:

1. There are members of his camp who are not big fans of Alabama

2. Michigan truly made progress with his mother on the official visit back in November

There is definitely legitimate confidence on Michigan's end that Solomon could end up a Wolverine on National Signing Day.

Solomon is ranked as the No. 2 defensive tackle and No. 31 overall player in the country by the 247sports Composite Rankings.

Michigan also expecting Willie Gay to sign
Four-star linebacker Willie Gay (Starkville, MS) has been going back and forth between Mississippi State, LSU and Michigan throughout his recruitment. Even though LSU is surging of late, Lorenz also notes that Michigan is confident they will land him, as well.

The LSU buzz is real, but Michigan still has confidence that they can get him in the fold. A few things to keep in mind regarding Gay:

1. The opportunity to replace Jabrill Peppers is a significant one for him. In speaking to him a bit during the week, his eyes lit up when talking about the possibility of replacing the college football player he says he's idolized.

2. Gay told me he "wouldn't mind changing" the fact that Michigan has only signed one player from Mississippi in the history of the program.

3. He said it was currently "50/50" that he visits Michigan unofficially in January. If he does make that visit, Michigan's chances significantly increase IMO.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder is ranked as the No. 7 outside linebacker and No. 111 overall prospects in the country.

Najee Harris told Michigan he was coming
The nation's top recruit has already landed in Alabama to officially join the Crimson Tide, ending his recruitment after a heated battle between Alabama and Michigan, but there was reason for optimism among the Wolverines. Lorenz also reports that, at some point, Harris told Michigan he was coming.

He also notes that some members of Harris' camp prefer he went to Michigan, and while that doesn't mean anything now, it does show why Michigan was so confident in their chances of flipping him.
