Michigan Football Recruiting: Latest On Najee Harris, Jordan Anthony's Commitment Date And More

The Michigan Wolverines have a long layoff as they prepare for the Orange Bowl, and some that time is devoted to recruiting. The recruiting dead period (which means no face-to-face interaction) is now here, but there are several recruits who could commit to Michigan during that period. As a result, there's plenty of action around Michigan football recruiting. Here are all the latest Michigan recruiting news and rumors you need to know.

Jordan Anthony To Commit Thursday
The Wolverines might add another big-name recruit to their 2017 class Thursday. Four-star LB Jordan Anthony is scheduled to make his decision, per his Twitter account.

The 6-foot, 220-pound LB is a four-star recruit and No. 6 outside linebacker in the nation according to the 247Sports composite. He's the No. 107 recruit in the country. Michigan is considered the favorite, but schools like Oklahoma, Auburn, Maryland and Clemson are still in the mix.

Latest on Najee Harris
The recruitment of Najee Harris continues to be a focal point for both Michigan and the fan base. Harris is the No. 1 player in the nation and a long-time Alabama pledged. But the rumblings continue to be that Michigan might be able to lure him away from Alabama. Here's the latest from 247Sports (subscription required).

As we first reported a few months ago, sources around Michigan feel like they are going to sign Harris. The belief is that Harris will make a non-public decision that may encompass him literally showing up at the school signs at with little to no fanfare ... There's little clarity on what he's going to do and Michigan is not certain of what he's going to do at this point.

247Sports add that the belief is Harris' decision will be wrapped up in the near future. Either way, it's something Michigan fans will keep a close eye on. Stealing the No. 1 player in the country away from Alabama would be a massive addition for Michigan.

Michigan Pursuing Chuck Filiaga
The Wolverines badly wanted five-star OT Isaiah Wilson, but missed out. With Wilson committed to Georgia, the Wolverines are turning their attention to Filiaga. The four-star OT told 247Sports that he'll name his final three at some point soon and will make his final decision on January 7th. Michigan is the front-runner for Filiaga, but Texas is pushing hard to land the in-state product. The top-100 recruit is the No. 14 player from the state of Texas and the No. 14 offensive tackle. He's listed at 6-foot-6, 335-pounds.
