Michigan Football News: Wolverines' Non-Conference Schedule Ranked Toughest In Country

The Michigan Wolverines go into the 2017 football season trying to replace 18 starters from last year's 10-win team, but they won't have a lot of time to get all of their new players up to speed.

According to Athlon Sports, Michigan has the toughest non-conference schedule in the entire country.

No team in the Big Ten has as attractive a non-conference schedule as the Wolverines this season. Jim Harbaugh is taking his team down to Arlington for a season-opening contest against Florida in Jerry Jones’ football palace. After that, Michigan plays at home against Cincinnati and Air Force. While neither of those two should be considered too challenging, neither should be considered too easy either.

With their extremely tough conference schedule as well, Michigan projects to have the hardest schedule in the nation in 2017. The Wolverines do host both Michigan State and Ohio State this year, but have to play at Penn State and at Wisconsin.

The Wolverines open the 2017 on Saturday, September 2 in that game against Florida, though kickoff time has yet to be set. Michigan's last game against the Gators came in the Orlando Citrus Bowl after the 2015 season, with the Wolverines getting a 41-7 win.

Michigan is in the middle of their spring practice, and their spring game is currently set for April 15 - but that is not the end of their spring practice sessions. They are set to hold several practices during the team's April 21-30 trip to Rome, Italy.
