Michigan Football News: John O'Korn Accepts Blame For Wolverines' Offensive Struggles

On Monday's press conference Michigan Wolverines quarterback John O'Korn admitted that he needs to play better as he was quoted saying "I need to pick it up." He and the entire Michigan offense need to step it up as they travel to Happy Valley to play the number two team in the country the Penn State Nittany Lions.

This season O'Korn has a 54.9 completion percentage with only one touchdown, and four interceptions. These are numbers that will not get it done on the road against a Penn State defense who has only given up 54 points this season or an average of nine points a game. That's the best in all of college football. O'Korn grew up in Huntingdon, Pa which is 47 minutes depending on traffic south of State College according to Google Maps. If O'Korn wants to make this a pleasant homecoming he will need to limit the turnovers.

Limiting the turnovers may be the difference in this game. Penn State is a (-12.5) favorite for the first time since 2009. With Michigan being double-digit underdogs the Wolverines need to do the little things well. Such as simply hitting open wide receivers and O'Korn know this because he said on Monday "I have to hit guys when they are open." This is an obvious quote but the Michigan defense has been really solid this season and if the offense can just be "ok" then Michigan has a chance to win this game.
