Michigan Football Grades vs. Ohio State: Jim Harbaugh Falls to 0-5, Don Brown Must Be Fired

The Michigan Wolverines lost to the #1 Ohio State Buckeyes 56-27 in “The Game” despite an impressive 1st half performance from Michigan QB Shea Patterson. Patterson had his third game of 300+ yards passing, finishing the day with 305 yards. However, Michigan came out flat in the second half and couldn’t hold off Justin Fields and JK Dobbins who combined for a whopping 8 touchdowns. Michigan’s offense hung tight with OSU in the first half, but struggled mightily after halftime. Ohio State’s defense ranks first in the country in terms of yards allowed per game, only giving up 217 yards. Shea Patterson threw for 305 yards but was held to one touchdown. Patterson also had a critical fumble in the redzone that was a defining shift in momentum. Ohio State's 56-27 victory makes it eight straight for the Buckeyes and 16 of the last 18. Don Brown’s defense forced an OSU punt in the 2nd drive of the game, but took them till the 3rd quarter to get another stop. Justin Fields put on a show, throwing for 305 yards and 4 touchdowns. JK Dobbins looked like a Heisman candidate, rushing for over 100 yards in the first half and scoring 4 touchdowns on the ground. Dobbins has rushed for 100+ yards on 8 previous games this season but this was his first 200+ yard game. Jk Dobbins now has 1,657 yards and 19 rushing touchdowns this season. Don Brown missed his chance at redemption, giving up another 50+ point scoring game to OSU. Want to beat Ohio State? Fire Don Brown.
