We're just four days away from National Signing Day on February 3rd, which means head coach Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines are focusing their efforts in hopes of delivering a great 2016 recruiting class. Wolverines Miss Out On Two Recruits Against Stanford
Harbaugh's old school beat him for a pair of players this weekend. The first was offensive tackle Devery Hamilton flipping from Michigan to Stanford Friday night. The second was three-star WR Donald Stewart committing to Stanford over Michigan. Stewart announced the move on Twitter Saturday. Losing Hamilton hurts more, as the Wolverines aren't as deep at tackle as they are WR for this class. Connor Murphy Not Qualified?
The Wolverines are currently the favorites to land four-star DE Connor Murphy, but they might not end up with him. 247Sports reports Murphy might not academically qualify to attend Michigan. As a result, he might end up committing elsewhere, like USC.
Update On Rashan Gary
The nation's No. 1 overall recruit is at the center of Michigan's focus. Like nearly every school in the nation, Michigan wants to land Gary, who took a second visit to Clemson this weekend. Most thought that Gary visiting Clemson was better than him going to Alabama, but that's not the case according to 247Sports.com.
"I can confirm with certainty that Michigan was hoping Gary would visit Tuscaloosa this weekend and not return to Death Valley," Steve Lorenz of 247Sports write. "They view Clemson as a bigger threat than Alabama. Part of this is because Alabama hasn't really recruited Gary that hard at all. They are Alabama, but the effort didn't look to be there for the bulk of the process."
