Jim Harbaugh Hints On Twitter That He'll Beat Up Jim Rome

Since taking over as the Michigan Wolverines head coach, Jim Harbaugh has engaged in Twitter jousting with several other coaches, mostly ones from the SEC. Now, he's firing back at Jim Rome after Rome called out Harbaugh on his radio show.

On Monday, Harbaugh left a press conference abruptly after being asked about suspensions for two players. The questions were rather innocuous, but Harbaugh didn't like them and left. Then on Tuesday, Rome ripped Harbaugh for his actions and called him "miserable," among other comments.

"Jim Harbaugh, Michigan coach, is already in midseason form," Rome said on his CBS Sports Radio Show. "He stormed out of a media session. Kind of shocking. Shocking that Harbaugh would get fed up, irritated, aggravated, in a media session. But he did so because reporters had the nerve to ask him a real football question. He pulled his walk off when reporters pressed him about three players that were missing from a team photo ... With that a walk off. With that line of questioning. That is not an unfair question. What that is a jerk move by the coach. That is not an unfair question or an unfair line of questioning. Like coach, you have multiple players unaccounted for, nobody knows where they are or what happened to them."

Harbaugh didn't take to kindly to Rome's statements, sending out a tweet with a clear meaning.

For those unfamiliar, that's former Purdue QB Jim Everett, who was in the NFL at the time. Back in 1994, Rome repeatedly called him "Chris," a reference to women's tennis player Chris Evert. It's easy to read between the lines of this one: Harbaugh is threatening to flip the tables on Rome and beat him up like Everett did. But Rome isn't backing down from Harbaugh.

Of course, 42-13 was the score that Ohio State beat Michigan this year. If and when Harbaugh responds, we'll update this story.
