On the challenges of youth and inexperience on the roster:
"We're coaching, doing what we would. We feel like our guys have been trained. Gone through spring, some played last year. We’re just going about and taking care of our business."

On if there are things players only learn in games, as opposed to camp and practice:
"Yes, there are. Freshmen players or even an older player that’s playing in games for the first time. We simulate things as much as you can, but there’s always something to learn."

On if his teams are better coming off a bye:
"That's a hard one to figure out. In terms of different things, it’s hard to figure out. Whether it’s good thing or bad thing. Don’t have the answer to that."

On other teams coming off a bye:
"Couldn’t state for a fact if they’re stronger or that they’re better. Or not as a good. I don’t have a feel for that."

On the defense and challenges against Rutgers:
"It's the challenge of next opponent we respect. They've won two straight games and they’re playing at a high level. All phases; offensively defensively and special teams. We're preparing for this ball game."

On the young corners (which Harbaugh briefly answered before talking more about general game planning):
"Been impressive. Talk about the challenges. Every new ball game you sit here on Tuesday and look at formations, personnel groups and the personnel. There's a whole gambit of things you’re evaluating and figuring out the best chances for success."
