The Michigan Wolverines will wear all-Maize uniforms in the season opener against the Florida Gators, a decision that not all Michigan fans are onboard with. But head coach Jim Harbaugh has no issues with Michigan wearing the alternate jerseys.
"I’m good with them," Harbaugh said in a Monday radio show. "I didn’t design them though — I’m not a designer, that’s not what I do. My wife would tell you I don’t have great taste anyway. But this is the 200-year anniversary of the school, there was that pitch there with the school color of maize. It seemed like a good idea and we'll find out on Saturday if it was the right way to go or not."
Saturday will be a color rush game, essentially, for Michigan and Florida. The Wolverines will rock the all-Maize, while Florida will wear all-blue (expect for white helmets). While the uniforms might not be liked by many of the more traditional Michigan fans, the players like them. It's also checks off a box for recruiting, as more and more teams unveil creative alternate uniforms.
