Four-Star OL Michigan Commit Is Re-Opening His Recruitment

Four-star offensive lineman Erik Swenson (Downers Grove, IL) committed to the Michigan Wolverines in 2013 under Brady Hoke, and held firm on his commitment after Jim Harbaugh was hired. However, Swenson announced that he has decommitted from Michigan, re-opening his recruitment:

There is a lof of speculation and rumors that the "unforeseen circumstances" that Swenson mentions is actually that Harbaugh pulled their scholarship offer due to Swenson's poor play this season. Notice that Swenson only says he is "re-opening his recruitment" rather than that he is decommitting.

Swenson also has scholarship offers from Ohio State, Notre Dame, Northwestern, and Illinois.

The 6'7", 285-pounder is ranked as the No. 31 offensive tackle and No. 322 overall recruit in the country by 247sports.
