The 4-5 Michigan Wolverines gave their bowl hopes a jolt on Saturday thanks to a 34-10 dismantling of the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday.

Michigan travels to Northwestern next week having found a bit of consistency on the offense that has sputtered majorly at points during the 2014 college football season.

Per Angelique Chengelis of The Detroit News, "for an offense that has struggled with inconsistency and turnovers this season, the Hoosiers' defense allowed the Wolverines to find a rhythm, even without one of their major contributors, tight end Jake Butt. Butt was suspended for one game for a "violation of team expectations."'

Indiana came into the game last in the Big Ten in scoring defense and passing defense. Like the Wolverines needed to do, they exploited the Hoosiers ineptitude on defense both through the air with quarterback Devin Gardner and on the ground with Drake Johnson's 122 rushing yards on 16 carries.

A bowl invitation might still be a bit of a climb for Michigan, seeing that they must win two of their last three games to be eligible. However, Saturday makes dreams of postseason play for Brady Hoke and the crew less of a pipe dream and more of an honest-to-goodness goal.
