Source: "Michigan no longer leads for Ty Isaac"

A source that has emailed me frequently with Michigan football recruiting info, all of which has turned out to be pretty dang accurate but is someone that I don't personally know, has just sent me a very detailed look into the recruitment of IL superstar RB Ty Isaac.

Without breaking the trust of the source, here is what he is ok with being published:

* Ty is leaning towards USC, and they are his leader right now.

* Ty is considering a commitment (but not likely) to USC on his next visit to the campus . . . this weekend. If no commitment is given, the USC coaches will likely give Isaac a deadline to commit to ensure he has a spot in their class if he wants it.

* The signing of 2 backs in 2012 and 2 more in this class already (Smith and Shallman), Isaac sees Michigan's depth chart as the least appealing of the other schools he is considering.

* Alabama is a threat for his services. The recent running back successes at Alabama have made them a threat to land pretty much whoever they want at that position. The Bama staff has been in touch and are heavily selling the fact that Ty would be an instant Heisman candidate and sure-fire 1st round draft pick if he comes to Alabama and land the starting gig.

* His recruitment is as tight lipped as can be, but this source has spoken with people at the competing schools and believes that Michigan is tied for #2 with Bama now.

Stay tuned as this recruitment heats up this weekend as Ty Isaac travels west to USC.
