Michigan Football: Jim Harbaugh To Bring Helmet Sticker Tradition Back To Ann Arbor

Jim Harbaugh is back with the Michigan Wolverines, and he's bringing another aspect of the program's storied tradition with him.

Per a report by Rivals’ Chris Balas, Michigan will be bringing back helmet stickers and saying goodbye to its Legends jerseys in 2015.

Harbaugh's reinstatement of the helmet sticker tradition is being done in honor of former coach Bo Schembechler, who began awarding helmet stickers all the way back in 1969. The stickers, which featured a wolverine on them, were used until Lloyd Carr put an end to the process back in 1995.

Former coach Brady Hoke, in lieu of helmet stickers, awarded players Legends jerseys during the season. One example is former receiver Jeremy Gallon, who was given the #21 to wear in honor of former Heisman Trophy winning-receiver Desmond Howard.

Now, the Legends jerseys are out and helmet stickers are in -- another solid move by the Harbaugh-led program in its efforts to bring Michigan football back to its rich-in-tradition roots.
