Michigan Football: 3 Burning Questions Following Spring Football

There is plenty to be excited about after the Michigan Wolverines' spring practice session, but there’s also some concerns that need to be address before the 2015 season gets going just over four months from now. Here’s 3 burning questions we have about Michigan football following the spring session.

1. Who'll Be The Starting Quarterback?

Veteran Shane Morris outplayed true freshman Alex Malzone in the spring game, enough so for Jim Harbaugh to name him the leader in the QB competition after spring practices. However, with a host of other options including redshirt freshman Wilton Speight, true freshman Zach Gentry, and likely transfer Jake Rudock, nothing is for certain when it comes to the starter spot in Ann Arbor.

2. Is Ty Isaac Ready To Be An Impact Back?

USC transfer Ty Isaac was limited by injury during the spring session, but he still figures to be a major factor on the teams depth chart in the backfield. After struggling big time in the spring game, however, questions remain as to just what he'll be able to add in the face of stiff Big Ten competition.

3. How Will The Secondary Shake Out?

There's no such thing as too much talent, but Michigan's defensive backs are good enough to give Harbaugh and defensive coordinator DJ Durkin a headache trying to sort out the depth chart.

Will the highly-touted Jabrill Peppers start his ascent to stardom in his redshirt freshman year? Will sophomore Brandon Watson carry over momentum from a brilliant spring game performance? Is the depth chart going to be up in the air heading into the season? Who knows at this point.
