Michigan Basketball Recruiting: Five-Star G Tyus Battle Commits To Wolverines

The Michigan Wolverines got a huge boost to their basketball program on Monday afternoon when five-star combo guard Tyus Battle (Gladstone, NJ) committed to Michigan on Twitter over Duke, Kentucky, and several other schools.

Battle told Scout.com's Evan Daniels that he picked Michigan because of "the mixture of academics and athletics. I really love the basketball situation and coach Beilein and the rest of the staff. They are amazing coached. You can see how they develop their players like Caris, Nik Stauskas and Tim Hardaway. That's a big deal to me."

The 6'6", 205-pounder is ranked as a top-15 overall prospect in the country. He joins centers Jon Teske and Austin Davis as Michigan's class of 2016 commitments.
