Halftime Quick-hitters: Minnesota Leads Michigan 10-7 at the Half

The Michigan Wolverines come into this Big Ten matchup in desperate need of a victory.

After Devin Gardner struggled mightily in his last game, the Wolverines turned the offense over to Shane Morris for this game.

Things were shaky for the Wolverines offense early on, with Morris completing just 6/10 passes for 41 yards.

Running back De'Veon Smith was able to get the offense going with a couple nice runs, including an 18 yard touchdown that gave Michigan the first score of the game early in the second quarter.

He has 55 yards rushing and the score on just eight carries.

Receiver Devin Funchess leads the Wolverines with three catches for 25 yards.

Minnesota had starting quarterback Mitch Leidner under center despite being questionable all week.

In an attack that featured more of running back David Cobb, Leidner was only asked to throw 16 passes, completing 10 for 115 yards.

He did take a bootleg in for a touchdown from 10 yards out for Minnesota's only score of the half.

Cobb was effective carrying the bulk of the offense, rushing for 111 yards on 19 carries and adding three receptions for 50 yards.

Stat To Keep An Eye On: Minnesota has 115 yards passing at the half, after finishing with just seven total passing yards against San Jose State last week.

Top Performers:

Minnesota: David Cobb - 19 carries, 111 yards, three receptions for 50 yards
