In a segment to be aired on ESPN's College Gameday on Saturday, Michigan Wolverines head coach Brady Hoke will address those Wolverines fans across the nation who have been calling for job for months now.
"I would tell them that we're getting it done the right way," Hoke tells ESPN reporter Gene Wojciechowski in a teaser for the segment, via Brendan F. Quinn of MLive.com. "This is a hard-working team and I like the leadership. But, I guess, at the end of the day, stay with us because these kids are special kids."
If there's any doubts about why Wojciechowski and an ESPN camera crew descended on Ann Arbor to interview the coach of a 2-2 team mired in inconsistency, the description on the teaser video makes the purpose of Saturday's segment clear:
"The numbers are stark when it comes to the struggles Michigan has been going through recently: 1-7 in its last 8 games vs. Power 5 opponents, 1 offensive touchdown in the last 12 quarters vs. Power 5 opponents, a slew of empty seats at the end of last week’s loss at home to Utah. All of it equates to a disgruntled fan base and mounting pressure on head coach Brady Hoke. ESPN's Gene Wojciechowski traveled to Ann Arbor to get a first-hand account of what’s gone wrong and sat down with Hoke to discuss just how “hot” his seat really is."
