3 Things We Learned From Michigan's Victory Over UNLV

The Michigan Wolverines took control of their game against the UNLV Rebels right from the start, and cruised to a blowout victory at the Big House. Here are three things we learned from the victory:

3) Plenty of options in the backfield

De'Veon Smith may be the starter, but the rest of Michigan's rushing attack really showed their worth in this one. Ty Isaac racked up 114 yards on just eight carries thanks to an impressive 76-yard TD run, and Drake Johnson averaged 5.6 yards per carry - not to mention wide receiver Jehu Chesson's 36-yard touchdown scamper on a reverse. This multi-faceted productive rushing attack, and they showed that this afternoon.

2) Jake Rudock is killing the offense

Michigan wasn't expecting Rudock to come in and be the savior, but they were expecting him to be much better than this. He has now thrown at least one interception in all three games this season when the biggest thing the Wolverines need from him is to take care of the ball. Furthermore, his inability to drive the ball down the field (just 123 passing yards against UNLV) has made this offense extremely one-dimensional.

1) Michigan's defense is good - very good

One week after giving up just 138 yards against Oregon State, the Wolverines allowed just 235 yards to UNLV. Harbaugh has quickly put his fingerprints all over this defense, and they're playing at a high level as a result. If they continue to play like this, Michigan will have a chance to win every game they play in, no matter what they get from their offense.
