MADISON, Wis. – Different players, missing players, same feel for Michigan State and Wisconsin.
The Spartans and Badgers did today at Kohl Center what they usually do – put together a great basketball game. And reeling Wisconsin stopped a three-game slide with an improbable comeback.
After MSU’s Eron Harris stepped out of bounds with MSU clinging to a one-point lead, Wisconsin’s Ethan Happ scored inside with 10.2 seconds left. Denzel Valentine then missed a long three and the Badgers came away with a 77-76 stunner.
No. 4 MSU (16-3, 3-3 Big Ten) has now lost two straight and is in rough shape early in the Big Ten regular-season race.
