EAST LANSING - There was still one week left in the regular season last year when Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio was asked about Khari Willis during a press conference.
Dantonio talked about the safety's play over three seasons and his toughness, and then said he thought Willis would eventually become a captain.
Asked about that prediction Thursday, Willis said he never heard it, but is glad it came true. The senior was voted a team captain on Thursday, along with redshirt junior quarterback Brian Lewerke and junior linebacker Joe Bachie.
"I guess it is kind of a relief," Willis said.
