Why Michigan State may have the next Kirk Gibson in WR/CF Jase Bowen

EAST LANSING — The comparison isn’t perfect.

Jase Bowen (6-foot) is about three inches shorter than Kirk Gibson.

He’s about 35 pounds lighter and doesn’t have the same straight-line speed.

But Bowen is trying to do exactly what Gibson did at MSU. He will play wide receiver on the football team and in the outfield on the baseball team, just like Gibson did his junior year.

“Talking to people about how great Gibson was in both sports, I’m like, dang, I want to do what he did,” Bowen said.
