Michigan State football has lost over a dozen players to the transfer portal after firing Jonathan Smith and hiring Pat Fitzgerald.
A number of departures weren’t expected to have much of an impact next season, but several were projected starters like Makhi Frazier, Michael Masunas, and Nick Marsh. Losing those three guys hurt, but the Spartans will find replacements for each one — and I’m not ruling out returns for anyone who has entered the portal.
The Spartans’ depth has taken a hit, but Fitzgerald will be expected to address that in the transfer portal in a week.
