EAST LANSING – Goals galore. Punches thrown. Goalies changed.
Not exactly the start to the second half of the season that Michigan State wanted.
Eighth-ranked Michigan scored five goals over a 5-minute, 40-second stretch of a high-paced first period, demolishing the Spartans, 9-2, on Friday night at Munn Arena.
“We scored a goal, and then 1, 2, 3 came for them in the span of (a few) minutes. … From there, they kind of just scored a lot on us,” freshman Mason Appleton said. “It was 5, 6, 7, and we were out of the game, I guess.
