Tum Tum Nairn could be out another month

EAST LANSING -- There's no telling when Michigan State starting point guard Tum Tum Nairn will return to action, but when he does, he's likely to be a change-of-pace reserve for the surging Spartans.

Nairn could be out another month or so, MSU coach Tom Izzo said today, with plantar fasciitis in his right foot that has caused him to miss the past six games. The condition has bothered Nairn since last year, and though recent rest and medication have reduced the pain, Izzo said when Nairn tries to do anything on the court, the pain increases.
