Michigan State offered a scholarship to class of 2024 defensive back-wide receiver Mikey Crawford this week. The Spartans are the first to offer Crawford, a lanky, 6-foot-3, 170-pound athlete who also stands out on the basketball court.
Crawford attends Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School in Midland, Penn., but the school does not have football, so he suits up at neighboring Western Beaver, a school Lincoln Park has a collaborative sponsorship with. In Pennsylvania, schools that do not have enough enrollment to support a specific sport can do this in order to field a team with schools contiguous to them.
