EAST LANSING — Cody White looked quizzically when asked to speak about the development of Jalen Nailor. The reporter had made the mistake of referring to the sophomore from Palmdale, California by his given name.
“Nobody around here calls him Jalen,” White, a junior wideout, said. “He’s just Speedy.”
The nickname refers obviously to his natural gifts, but in the depth chart released Tuesday, Nailor was named the starter at both the slot wide receiver position and the punt returner position.
