Ron Mason Tribute on Friday
Michigan State will pay tribute to Ron Mason prior to puck drop of Friday’s game with a video feature and moment of silence. The Spartans are honoring the legendary coach all season with an emblem of his initials both on the Munn Arena Ice and on the team helmets.

Mason, who passed away in June at the age of 76, retired as the sport’s winningest coach in 2002 with 924 victories. His 36-year coaching career at Lake Superior State, Bowling Green and 23 seasons at Michigan State included an all-time record 23 NCAA Tournament appearances, 23 CCHA regular season and playoff titles and a national Championship with the Spartans in 1986.
