Sizing up Michigan State football's impact backups for 2019

EAST LANSING — The stars and starters will be important for Michigan State this fall.

Obviously.

But the extent of a football team's success often is determined by its backups. And the Spartans are in need of some depth at key positions to improve on last year’s 7-6 record.

There will be other position battles to watch when MSU enters camp in early August, particularly at running back.
