When Jonathan Smith was hired as Michigan State’s next head coach, he faced some tough conversations. He had to talk to the quarterback room about the immediate future, and kind of drop a hint about Aidan Chiles joining him in East Lansing.
That drove guys like Noah Kim, Katin Houser, and Sam Leavitt away as they all wanted to be ‘the guy’ and there were going to be too many cooks in the kitchen.
Kim transferred to Coastal Carolina and now he’s the starter at Eastern Michigan, Houser transferred to East Carolina where he’s still the starter, and Leavitt went to Arizona State where he beat out a five-star for the starting job.
